Required pre-requisite
1. Have taken the Basic Portuguese Knitting Class at Ewe-nique Knits or have Portuguese Knitting Style knowledge with practical experience
2. Colorwork knitting experience with any other knitting project using English/American or Continental Knitting Style
Homework:
- Knit a stockintette gauge swatch in the round of 5 stitches per inch
- Cast on 100 stitches using your choice of cast in MC & join in the round
- Knit a 1X1ribbing for 9 rounds in Portuguese Style
- Purl 3 rounds in Portuguese Style
Course Overview: This class is designed for the new Portuguese Style knitter who is wanting more Portuguese Knitting practice and a desire for a challenge. By purling every round with yarn around your neck/Portuguese Knitting Pin, instead of using the knit stitch, the Snow Flake hat is knit inside out. It seems to be an alternative technique for knitting speed and ease.

Class Supplies:
- Yarn: Woolstock by Blue Sky Fibers: 1 skein Main Color & 1 skein Contrasting Color
- Knitting needles: US# 7 20” circular or size to obtain gauge
- 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle & scissors
- Pattern: Snow Flake Hat by Andrea Wong, can be accessed here
Note changes to pattern for this class:
- Worsted weight yarn
- Needle size has increased
- Gauge has changed from 6 st per inch to 5 st per stitch
