Needle Felting Mat - Size Large by Clover
Foam mats disintegrate. This doesn't.
Clover's mat is built from dense bristles, and it changes how felting feels. The needles slip between the bristles with almost no resistance, which means less strain on your hand and far fewer broken needles. The bristle length is tuned so your needle tips never hit a hard base — that's the whole reason foam mats chew through needles and this one doesn't.
It also lets the fibers mesh properly with your base fabric instead of just compressing them, so your appliqué actually grabs.
The Large size is the one to get if you're working on sweaters, scarves, wraps, or any piece where the small mat has you constantly repositioning. Still compact enough to toss in your project bag.
Two rules: punch straight down, and stay toward the center. Going off the edge is how needles snap and fingers find out.
