HM-58 Circle Sampler
A sampler of circular motifs, each one a different traditional pattern. Think of it as a stitch library you can hang. Great for learning multiple designs in one project, or for using up leftover Sashiko thread in a dozen colors.
Sashiko is slow stitching at its best. One running stitch, repeated, until a piece of plain cotton turns into something you want on a wall.
The design comes pre-printed in a wash-out blue marking, so there's no transferring, no tracing, no stencil work. Stitch the lines. Rinse the lines away. Done.
At 24.5" wide by 44" long, this finishes as a wall hanging, table runner, or panel for a larger project. 100% cotton, so it takes a needle beautifully and softens with every wash.
Designed by HM Textiles in Australia. Made in Japan. Imported by Orimono Imports.
The details
- 24.5" W x 44" L
- 100% cotton
- Pre-printed wash-out Sashiko design
- Designed in Australia, made in Japan
- Thread sold separately — we recommend Daruma Sashiko thread
How to stitch it
- Pre-wash only if you plan to wash the finished piece. Cold water, no soap, air dry.
- Stitch the printed lines with Sashiko thread and a Sashiko needle. Long running stitches, even spacing, no knots on the front.
- Work in one direction and finish full lines before crossing to a new section.
- When you're done, soak in cold water until the blue markings disappear. Don't press or heat the fabric before the markings are out — heat can set them.
- Air dry flat, press from the back, hang.
