Sandnes Garn Double Sunday
Includes PetiteKnit colorways
Same yarn. Twice the weight. No holding two strands.
Double Sunday is exactly what the name says — Sandnes took their most popular merino and spun it thicker. DK weight, 100% non-superwash merino, and it moves fast on the needles. If you loved a Sunday pattern but didn't love the idea of knitting a whole sweater at 28 stitches to four inches, here you go.
It's a genuinely great colorwork yarn. The merino is round and springy with clean stitch definition, so cables pop and stranded yokes stay crisp. It also plays well with a strand of Tynn Silk Mohair or Alpakka Følgetråd held alongside, which adds softness and cuts down on friction wear.
Same non-superwash caveat as Sunday — this can felt. Wash it kindly. In exchange you get wool that blooms, breathes, and gets better every time you block it.
Between the Sandnes range and the PetiteKnit collaboration shades, there are over fifty colors in the line. It is a very good problem to have.
