Toe Up Sock Knitting

Pre-requisite: Have knitted and completed at least 3 projects. Mastered the knit stitch, purl stitch, casting on of any method, binding off and are eager to increase your knitting education by learning new techniques/skills and developing knitting independence.
Homework
-Knit a 4”x4” gauge in stockinette stitch by casting on 24 stitches with US#3 DP’s

o Purl a row
-Bring swatch to class for measurement

Course Overview: Learn how to knit a pair of adult “Toe Up” dk/sport weight socks for your feet or feet of someone worthy of your knitting using double pointed needles. The student will focus on the toe up anatomy of knitting socks with an afterthought heel.

The following stitches/techniques are learning points of the class:

• Casting on “Toe”
• SSK
• K2 tog
• M1L & M1R
• Picking up stitches from waste yarn
• Positioning waste yarn for afterthought heel
• TBL

Class Supplies: *Supplies are additional and yarn must be purchased at Ewe-nique Knits

• 270 yds of any DK or sport weight yarn
• US #3 double pointed needles (or size to obtain gauge)
• Simple Toe Up Sock Pattern by Churchmouse Yarns and Teas
• Tapestry needle
