Yarn Clubs

Yarn Clubs

We started 2018 with two awesome yarn clubs from Knitted Wit.

What's a yarn club, you say?  well..  Each month, it's a specific yarn dyed in a limited edition color.  Each company puts their own special touch on it.  All the yarn clubs we carry are fingering weight and can be easily used for socks or shawls.  It's a fun surprise and I look forward to it every month!

We had so much fun and they are so popular that we've added some additional clubs.  Let me tell you a little about each one.  If you'd like us to automatically put a skein aside each month, of any club - just give us a call.

Knitted Wit ~ HerStory ; LoraJean owner of Knitted Wit chooses and features a woman in STEM (science, technology, engineering & math).  She then creates a colorway inspired by the featured woman.  Each skein comes with a love story to teach you about the woman and how the colorway was inspired.  Featured women this year have included Marie Curie, Maryam Mirzahini and Valentina Tereshkova.

You can see them all here...

Knitted Wit ~ Sassy Holiday ; LoraJean owner of Knitted Wit chooses and features a wacky and fun holiday.  She then creates a colorway inspired by the holiday.  Featured holidays have included National Ice Cream Day, Lucky Penny Day & National Waffle Day.

You can see them all here..

Baah Yarn ~ LaJolla Club; Mira, owner of Baah Yarn creates a stunning colorway each month.  We've adored Mira's beautiful yarn and color combinations for awhile now, but July will be our first Club month.

Each designed to allow a seamless integration of colors from months prior as well as offering a unique piece colored entirely by the featured yarn of that month. Baah yarn says 'Just as quickly as time passes by each day and carries us into a new month, one by one these limited colors will fade out and into the next radiant blend of colors for the month ahead. So why not grab a skein or two or three, four, or five. Because let’s be honest, who are we kidding? These colors are just way too good to pass up!'  well, I must say... I totally agree!  We're so excited to add this club to our monthly stash.

Round Mountain Fibers ~ Botany Club, Ornithology Club & Entomology Club ; At TNNA, I met Monica and her team from Round Mountain Fibers.  I instantly fell in love with her nature inspired colorways. Her collections are grouped by Entomology (inspired by Insects), Botany (inspired by Flowers) and Ornintholigy (inspired by Birds).

July clubs feature:  The Blue Bellied Starling for the Orinthology Club, The Tigerwing Chrysalis for the Entomology Club and The Viola for the Botony Club.  How cool is that?

We're lucky to be one of two shops in Michigan to carry their yarn!  We're starting with 3 clubs and have plans to bring in a tonal dk weight yarn later this year.

Koigu ~ KPPPM Collector Club ; The Koigu Collector’s Club is a monthly limited edition, one-of-a-kind themed colorway of KPPPM hand dyed by Taiu Landra, Co-owner of Koigu Wool Designs.  July 2018’s multicolored theme is RAKU, inspired by the beautiful Raku pottery technique, pulling the pieces out of the kiln at red hot temperatures, resulting in an amazing technicolor coloring! Tai Landrau loves pulling inspiration from other crafts and art forms.

Koigu Collector Club is found here...

So that's our wrap up on our current yarn clubs.  We love them all and hope you're as excited as we are.  Check them out on our website or stop in to see them in person.  If you'd like us to automatically put one aside every month, we're happy to do so.

Happy Knitting!
